We proudly have the Aldborough Hall Equestrian Centre Pony Club here at Aldborough Hall.
Children can join when they reach our Class 3 standard of riding & upwards and can join and stay a member until the age of 25.
For Pony Club members during Spring, Summer & Autumn seasons, every fortnight on Friday's between 17:30 and 19:00 at a cost of £5, we have interactive lectures including horse care, showing and occasionally riding. These lectures enable the members to work towards their Pony Club Badges and Tests.
We also hold Rallies, Competitions and Pony Club Tests regularly.
The British Horse Society - Challenge Awards
The British Horse Society have developed a range of awards that provide you with the opportunity to develop your knowledge of horse care, riding skills and lungeing. Enhance your skills at your own pace and advance on what's important to you.
The BHS Challenge Awards are designed for horse owners, loaners and recreational riders (no matter what your experience or ability). With our accredited coach you can work through the Challenge Award levels Intro, Bronze, Silver and Gold. You can start at any chosen level. For the Bronze to Gold awards you will need to be a either a Silver or Gold BHS member. A British Horse Society certificate and badge is awarded to all successful learners.
There are 34 awards in total, and you can pick and mix the awards that suit your experience and interests; they’re completely flexible with you in control choosing the awards that are right for you.
Each challenge award comes with a supporting information booklet that introduces the knowledge and skills within the award.
Who can Participate in the Challenge Awards?
Absolutely anyone who is a BHS member. It doesn’t matter what previous experience you have with horses, or if you’re a complete beginner. All you need is enthusiasm and a love for horses!
There are no age limits or restrictions to the awards. The only exception to this is within silver riding out safely; the minimum age limit to sit the Ride Safe award is 11.
